Release Dates & Access

When do these new updates launch?

Beta launches on July 4th, 2025

Who will have access?

Plan specific feature sets will be announced towards the end of the beta period. During that time, everyone will be able to access and test the new features.

New AI Features (Storyteller & Librarian)

Is there an easy way to apply these new AI features to existing tutorials.

Storyteller: If you are adding steps, yes. Otherwise, no.

Librarian: Yes. It can reference new and existing tutorials in your library.

Can end users access the Librarian?

Yes. End users can chat with the Librarian as long as you have it activated for that specific library.

Can the Librarian be embedded in our Knowledge Base, so learners don't have to leave?

Yes. The Librarian is a feature that you can activate for your specific libraries. Once active, it is available where that library exists, for example your Knowledge Base or LMS.

For Libraries, can we integrate them with Freshdesk?

Yes, you can embed a Library in Freshdesk. If you enable the Librarian for that Library, it will also work inside Freshdesk. Your end users will not be redirected to iorad.

Will the Storyteller be available in both Desktop and Browser versions of iorad?

We are starting with browser. Desktop availability is currently scheduled for Q4 of 2025.

Does Storyteller also work in other languages?

We are still looking into multi-lingual support.

If the Storyteller automatically generates or masks something during capture, can we undo it or remove it?

We are still working through the mechanics of this. Currently, we retain the original image for each step during your specific session, so you have the opportunity to unmask. After you close the session, the changes become permanent.

How does the Storyteller know what content should be masked?

AI automatically detects and masks personally identifiable information (PII) and sensitive data during tutorial creation. This is part of an AI-first capture experience where the AI listens and understands context, intelligently automating editing steps such as sensitive data masking to ensure privacy and compliance. The AI is trained to auto-mask all potentially sensitive PII.

Can the Storyteller replace your voice with an AI voice?

Yes. This is optional.

How good is the Storyteller at extracting spoken word to save us from battling with SSML tags?

Storyteller enables a truly voice-driven capture experience where users speak naturally while capturing. It listens and understands context to automate editing steps, including improving step text, context, and flow. It can follow voice instructions, as well as ignore unnecessary info. This reduces the need for manual annotation and helps produce polished tutorials faster, minimizing the need to battle with SSML tags for voiceover adjustments.

Can you "teach" the AI how to pronounce things correctly?

AI functionality & voice generation are separate functions. At this time, there isn't anything built around this.

Will the new AI features be able to add add tags or categorize tutorials automatically?

Currently no, but this is on our roadmap to discuss for future releases.

We're K-12 and need to overlay a lot of PII. Can you explain what the Storyteller sees. Are pre-overlaid screenshots stored for later processing or training?

AI analyzes information them makes a determination on whether or not if can be used to identify someone. Like country, ID numbers, etc. Then it automatically blurs that information out. We do not train the AI, it already knows how to identify this type of information.

What is the security behind the AI features. How is the information that is helping the AI stored?

Your data is securely processed and will not be stored or used for training AI models from our providers. Your data is only processed temporarily to generate a response, then immediately discarded.

Could you please share a bit on how iorad is trained on the additional context it’s providing? Is it referencing other iorad tutorials that have been created for the same program/system?

No. The models from Google and Open AI infer what you are doing or trying to do. Then they fill in details between steps. The real power is you giving it context through the voice transcription feature. Then AI does it's thing.

Can you share which LLMs you are using?

We use OpenAI and Google Gemini

New Analytics

Can usage stats/graphs be shown by category or some other grouping?

Yes. The Analyze feature will enable you to drill down a lot more and filter by category/tag.

Are we seeing learner engagement data if we use the library function? We have not used that resource in the past.

With the new Dashboard feature, creators can see their learners' search interactions with a Library. Not the Librarian, that's an external service and we don't track that currently.

Can I lookup a learner by name and see if they have accessed an/or completed a tutorial?

Yes. In the Dashboard, you can use the analyze feature to search by specific learner and see completions.

General

Can I add my own avatar as a guide?

Not at the moment, but this is on our development roadmap.

Is a scheduled data export feature on your roadmap? (ie. download / email a certain report nightly?)

We've added this to our roadmap!

Are there any additional updates to the closed captioning? Anytime we make changes to the slide narration, the closed captioning reverts back.

Closed captioning is based on the audio generated for your tutorial. If you re-generate uadio afte ryou make a change, the closed captioning will also update.

Can tutorials be assigned to a different member of my team to edit?

Yes, you can assign edit access to other team members with a creator license. In the current UI, you can follow this tutorial as an example.

Is the square being phased out?

Yes. All tutorials created in the square will now be housed in a new section of the app called Public Library.

Are their directions for how to embed a Library of tutorials into an LMS like MyPro?

Yes. In our current UI, this tutorial shows you how to embed a web library.

When you embed a Library into a Knowledge Base, is that vi an iframe/html embed code? Is it possible to whitelabel with our own brandind?

Yes. It's via an iframe. Many customers will embed and their end users won't see the iorad.com player url that way. Once you've added a custom theme to the tutorial, the word iorad is no where to be seen.

Are there considerations around the ethics of making a great deal of instructional designers expertise obsolete?

Honestly, we’re not pushing IDs out of the picture—we’re giving them room to paint a bigger one. The mundane, copy-paste, “robotic” tasks get handled by the tech, so instructional designers can zero in on strategy, storytelling, and learner experience. Think of it like autopilot on a plane: it doesn’t ground the pilot; it frees them to navigate, innovate, and keep everyone on course.

Will you add something like Google Translate to be able to translate tutorials into other languages (i.e. Spanish, Vietnamese, etc.)?

This already exists! The translation feature enables you to localize tutorial text and audio into different languages. You can learn more about it here

Are these tutorials fully Accessibility compliant?

Yes.  We have a VPAT available here
